About the event
For five days and four nights, we flee from the stress of the city and organize a small settlement in the mountains. For us, this is a kind of physical and mental cleansing. We practice media asceticism and digital detox in the mountains. Your mind will be able to rest from the endless flow of information and enjoy a simple life in nature. In addition, a digital detox can act as a method of “information hunger”. When you are deprived of information, there is a great desire to learn new things and explore the world around you. And we will give you that opportunity. The wild nature of the mountains is interesting and diverse. Daily walks and ascetic tribal living in the camp will give you a lot of new knowledge and inspiration. Along with mental cleansing, there will also be physical cleaning of the body. Clean air, clean mountain water, and a moderate amount of healthy food will do their job.
The group is formed by the selection of questionnaires, which are filled out by the participants, because we try to form a community that would coexist harmoniously, the participants of which would not violate the laws of the settlement and respect other participants of the retreat. The retreat begins with the climbing of Mount Rila. You will carry with you a backpack with your tent, sleeping bag, and everything you need (you will get access to the list of all necessary things after your application is approved) When we are at the retreat site, we have to take care of the place to stay in advance and set up tents. If you have never done this, we will help you. Then we all build protection and a common field kitchen together. We will also need to spend some time before sunset to collect wood and make the bonfire on which we will prepare food for dinner. At the dinner, we will all gather at the fire, get acquainted, and distribute the responsibilities for all retreat participants so everyone knows who will help in the kitchen, wash dishes, bring water, who will collect wood, etc. Every morning after breakfast we will do a small trekking through the mountains, admiring the beauty and getting acquainted with the majestic nature of the mountain range. You can skip the walk and find yourself a quiet place to read a book, meditate, exercise, or just sit down and enjoy the incredible view from the mountain. It is your time when you do what you really want and need right now in your own rhythm.
Every evening we will gather at the bonfire to share impressions of the day and make a schedule for the next day. Living without electricity and the conveniences of the city, without noise and turmoil, without the incredibly stressful speed of life, you will feel the joy and pleasure of the simple things you will do daily for your own survival in the wild.
The mountains are a symbol of perseverance, strength, and tranquility. These are the qualities we activate in ourselves during our retreat.
